A new year can bring on lots of new (or even bring back old) lifestyle changes for people, especially moms! Whether it’s eating right better, hitting the gym more, or maybe just getting one less coffee, we all seem to strive to become a little bit better than we were before. But what if we did more than that? What if we did something to make our whole household better? “Wendy are you INSANE?! Do you know how much I already try to balance with this whole mother-of-the-year gig I have going????!” Girl, I get it. Trust me! Dishes are piled in my sink, the dirty laundry piles are in every room except the laundry room, & we barely make it to school or even bed on time…EVER. But this one post could change your lives!

As we welcome a brand New Year and plan for the future, we cannot help but also reminisce about the past. Are you a mom, like me, who has photos of your kiddos from nearly every day? Have you looked back at the highlight reel of 2015 and wish you would’ve snapped even more? As a mom and professional photographer I, Melissa Click, take a lot of photos of children. Despite the quantity I treasure of my own children, it never fails that I look back and wish I would’ve captured more “keepers”. Based on experience with my own two children and interacting those of my clients, here I’m happy to share my best tips for capturing quality portraits of your children. Cheers to documenting your fresh new year successfully!

I am so excited to share this Talking is Teaching Tulsa monthly event with you! Talking is Teaching is a great way to bond with your child. Families with children ages birth to five come together and we talk, read, sing, eat and learn. Each month we will read a different book and your child will get to take that month’s book home with them. After we read and sing, lunch is provided to both parents and children.

Last month we read Llama Llama Red Pajama, then the “real” llama came out for a fun meet and greet and photo opportunity. It is great to start reading to your babies early to build their brains. Please join us TODAY, November 20, 2015 at 10:00am at Contact Mission as we read Pout Pout Fish. This book is definitely one of our new favorites.

My kids are busy! They move from one activity to the next before I can blink, therefore, it is so hard for me to keep up with them. I decided to clear out a small area in the corner of my living room and create an activity center for them. I added a table with chairs and a small rolling cart. I used a nook sized table and chairs, but if your kiddo’s are small, you could use a miniature sized table and chairs. My rolling cart is from IKEA, but they have similar carts at Target, you can check those out, here. I placed this summer activity center in my living room because they do not like to be in a room where I am not, annoying, but true. I try to take it as a compliment! This fun, summer activity center takes 15 minutes to set up and saves you hours of time digging out supplies and toys for your kiddos throughout the day.
