Berry Picking is one of our favorite summer activities! We have visited Thunderberry Farms multiple summers and most recently we visited Owasso Berry Farm. You can find strawberrys, blackberries and blueberries throughout the summer months. During the fall we love to head out to the apple orchard and pick apples! It is best to pick a morning before it gets too hot and we always wear rain boots because it tends to get muddy! They also have buckets available on site for you to use. Happy Picking!

Step 1: Gather up the essentials.

  • GPS Device
  • GPS Coordinates of the hidden cache. You can seek those out on the website here.
  • Small treasures to leave in the geocache.

Step 2: Pack up water & snacks. Dress in Appropriate clothing. Most likely you will be climbing around rocks, bushes, etc.

Step 3: Seek out your geocache. Tip: Look for areas that appear out of place. (bundles of sticks, dirt mound, pile of rocks, etc)

Step 4: Find the geocache & open it. You may take something from the geocache, but you must also leave something in place of what you removed. Sometimes there are items inside that are meant to stay.

Step 5: Log it in your log book.

I don’t know about you guys, but we just had family pictures taken for our Christmas cards. There are years we manage to get the pictures done in October, but sometimes life gets busy and we cut it close. Thankfully, we have a photographer in the family, so that makes things a lot less stressful. That said, last year was the first year I actually got the cards ordered, but never got them mailed out. I’m still debating mailing them out with this year’s card. Would that be weird? haha

The only stress that really comes for me is what will wear and should we do anything extra creative. I say stress, but I really only thing about it long enough to make a decision, then I go about my way 😉 I do, however, LOVE looking at Christmas card pictures. Actually, I love looking at family photo shoots in general.

Over the Thanksgiving Holiday, a friend tagged me on Facebook letting me know that one of our Christmas cards from about three years ago, was on Tiny Prints list of Creative Family Photo Ideas:)I thought it was pretty fun they found one of ours and shared it. It also happens to be one of my favorites as it was the first one with my dumplings in it:)Tiny Prints didn’t even print our cards this particular year, so they weren’t just selecting cards that came through their system, which I thought was pretty cool as well! {Side note: Tiny Prints has amazing deals and sales on Christmas card. It right now they are still offering 40% off and free shipping, here, with the code BESTSALEFS40}

This is the front of our card that they posted….

They had a cute list pictures that you can find here.

We would love to see your holiday card if you want to leave the link!

We love doing affordable activities at our home. Over Christmas break our family had more time together & that equals finding more things to do to fill that time. Being a mom to two boys means getting creative in the DIY department. I found a couple of projects that have piqued their interest and that allow me to tap into that creative, hands-on side.

I found the cutest little stocking stuffer from Seedling while browsing through Pottery Barn Kids at Utica Square last month. For roughly $10, you can hatch your own dinosaur from an egg. My kids absolutely adored this activity. They patiently waited for two days for their dinosaur to emerge from it’s egg. The anticipation of seeing what was inside made it so much fun!
