DIY State Doormat

Are you looking for a fun and inexpensive way to spruce up your front porch?  I have a super easy way of creating a friendly entry. A DIY personalized, state doormat is a quick solution to a drab front porch.  Made from faux grass, it is a durable and unique entrance for your guests.

Faux green grass

Scissors

Chalk

Picture of your state

Large piece of paper

I started by looking at my state, Oklahoma, and free drawing it, with my chalk, onto the piece of large paper. The size of the state should be the size you want your mat to be.  Cut out your drawn state stencil.

Unroll the faux grass and turn it upside down. Using the state stencil, trace with the chalk creating as many mats as possible on your faux grass.  (Be certain to trace the state backwards so when you cut the grass out, it is the correct configuration.)

Using a utility knife, cut along the chalk line.

Place the new door mat in front of your door for all to enjoy, or give them as gifts!
