Last month I took my daughter to the free kids workshop at Home Depot. The free kids workshops are held on the first Saturday of every month, from 9:00 am – 12:00 pm. At the particular workshop we attended, we built a car, painted the car, and my daughter received an achievement pen. My little one loved it and I have to say, I really enjoyed it as well. The workshops are geared towards 5 – 12-year-olds; however, my four year old did just fine! At each workshop, in addition to the newly constructed project kit, every child receives a kid-sized orange apron and an achievement pin. It was so fun to see all the kids with multiple achievement pins on their aprons. My daughter is already asking to do another one, so I will definitely make these workshops part of our monthly activities. You can check out the full schedule here.
Like Home Depot, Lowe’s has Saturday ‘Build and Grow’ workshops (every week at 10:00 am), which teaches kids to build wooden projects, complete with free supplies like an apron and goggles. Most of the projects are tie-ins with popular kids movies. If you have any questions, call your local store for more information!
