Today she is sharing with us her family’s Valentine tradition!
We all like to be told that we are loved, and it’s even more excellent to be told specific reasons why we are loved! A few years ago, I started a Valentine tradition with my kiddos that the whole family enjoys.
We begin the 1st day of February and continue through the 14th, Valentine’s Day. I trace hearts onto colored paper allowing the kids to cut out the shapes, encouraging them to stay on the lines, which is great cutting practice.
We create quite a pile of hearts that you can place in a vase, basket, or clip to branches within a vase as Valentine’s decor. Every evening/morning we grab a heart for each person in the family and write a reason why we love them. If your kiddo cannot write, I would encourage them to draw a picture or tell you what they want to say and you write it for them.
