This past Monday my kiddos and I, along with some friends, went to the Tulsa Children’s Museum, Discovery Lab.
I had no idea this place even existed! When our friends asked us to join them, I immediately went to Google. The museum has been open about two years now and I do think it’s a great place for kids!
The tape slide kind of blew me away. How in the world is there a slide made of strictly tape. And not only that, but it’s also a pretty lengthy tape tunnel leading up to the slide!
Here is the tunnel and Knox is crawling right on through! I won’t lie, the tunnel definitely gave me a bit of anxiety, but mostly because there were quite a few larger boys trying to zip past Knox in that confined little area. The museum was extremely busy because it was Martin Luther King Day.
He, however, hardly noticed anything except the new, exciting things he was experiencing!
Sloane wanted nothing to do with the slide, but she loved the other activities! She bounced all over the place! Sloane, Knox and our friend, Cash, are playing with one of the ball shoots here.
I imagine that the exhibits change, but currently there are dinosaurs! They are large and interactive.
There is a do-it-yourself activity lab in the museum, but we didn’t make our way in there before the kiddos were ready to play outside. I did come across this picture on the News on 6 website. I believe it was when they were announcing the plans for the museum. I did peek in and this is pretty spot on! There were kids working away!
The play area outside is nice and spacious and there was also a splash pad for the warmer months!
We will definitely visit the museum again soon! If you haven’t been, it’s a great indoor activity.
